JAZZ & TECHNIQUE MASTER CLASSES WITH LIZ PICCOLI!

Liz Piccoli (AEA/AGMA/SDC Associate Director/Choreographer).  Liz enjoys wearing many hats and loves coffee/life, including her boston terrier Bebe and potbelly pig Pinky Oxford.  After performing as a ballet dancer for the New York City Metropolitan Opera in Romeo et Juliette and The First Emperor, she is thrilled to return to the art form in the position of choreographer for Bare Opera in the fall.  Some of her most enjoyable credits include:  Asst. Director/Choreographer to Tricia Brouk on I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, (Central Coast Theater,) Asst. Choreographer to Bill Castellino on Ionescopades, (York Theater/Lucille Lortel Nomination,) SDC Observer-Dan Knechtges on Lysistrata Jones,  (Off-Broadway, which transferred to Broadway,) Asst. Choreo..-TVLand Awards starring Liza Minnelli and Choreographer of  Now the Cats with Jewelled Claws, Off-Broadway at La Mama with Jonathan Warman.  She is the current choreographer for a musical in workshop based on the music of PINK, True Love, and is very happy to be a part of the NYC Jazz Choreography Project at Alvin Ailey for the past 5 years.   which is still in development, as well as the choreographer of Footloose, Hairspray, and Oliver with the Ohana Arts Project in Oahu, HI, a musical theater youth program.   Most recent projects include creating a cabaret show  New York Stories at Stage 72, choreographing The Jungle Book for the Black Spectrum Theater summer program and working on choreography for the Broadway bound 54 the Musical in workshop in the fall..  To quote her mentor Luigi, “Never Stop Moving.”   Liz is the Co-Director and Choreographer of Spandex, the Musical, Off-Broadway.

CONTEMPORARY & LYRICAL MASTER CLASSES WITH VICTOR SMALLEY & ANGEL ARMAS!

Victor Smalley & Angel Armas are from Stars Dance Company & Dance Moms Miami TV Series. They are now traveling with their own “Liberate the Artist Conventions & Studio Workshops”.
They will do a Warm-Up, 2 classes (contemporary & lyrical) and a Meet & Greet with two different groups at our studio.

JAZZ MASTER CLASS WITH LU CUADRA!

Lu is an award winning choreographer and performer! He has toured both regionally and nationally with several production companies. He has choreographed and performed with various emerging artists, college dance teams, touring hip hop companies, and numerous competition teams. His teaching style fuses street hip hop with jazz technique, pop and lock, and club styled movement. A California native now rooted in Brooklyn, NY; Lu combines a little west coast thrash to the northeast flash.

BALLET MASTER CLASS WITH DEANNA FORD!

Deanna’s training began in Tacoma, Washington with Jo Emery. She continued her studies on scholarship in NYC with the School of Ballet, the Joffery Ballet, the Harkness Ballet and David Howard. Deanna started her professional career at age 19 as a soloist with the Hartford Ballet. She also performed with the New Jersey Ballet and was a featured ballet dancer for Radio City Music Hall productions. She has performed as an adagio dancer in Japan, Europe and throughout the USA, as well as in many musical theater productions. Deanna performed as a Radio City Rockette on National Tour, in Las Vegas and the Christmas Spectacular at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. She currently teaches dance throughout the New York area as well as Master Classes nationally and locally. Deanna believes that a strong technical background, versatility and a good sense of humor are the ingredients to becoming a successful dancer.

BALLET MASTER CLASS WITH KATHRYN SULLIVAN!

Kathryn Sullivan teaches ballet and pointe at STEPS on Broadway, and is on the ballet faculty at Barnard College at Columbia University. She performed with the Boston Ballet, Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, and Les Ballet de Nancy. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Ballet Hispanico, la Guardia High School of Performing Arts, New Jersey Ballet and the Dance Masters of America conventions. Ms. Sullivan has collaborated with STEPS pianists on CD’s for ballet class, made a DVD of ballet routines, “Ballet with Style”, and written articles on ballet for all the major dance magazines. She directed and edited “Downtown Dance-NYC”, produced by Insight Media and is currently working on another about Pina Bausch.
